Dr. Craig Lapenski: President
Dr. Lapenski discovered NUCCA while in Chiropractic college and following his first NUCCA adjustment, realized this was the care he needed to provide for his patients. Dr. Lapenski graduated with honors from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa in 1999. He has been in private practice in Graham, Washington ever since. Over the past 13 years, Dr. Lapenski has been committed to the perpetual advancement of the reduction of the atlas subluxation complex. He has developed a rigorous training program in his practice designed to increase the clinical skills of the doctors in the field, and has trained six of his practice associates. Dr. Lapenski is one of only 23 board certified NUCCA doctors worldwide, receiving full NUCCA board certification in 2010.
Recently elected to the NUCCA board, Dr. Lapenski looks forward to helping to grow the organization and the public’s knowledge of this amazing technique.
Dr. Jordan Landholm, Vice President
Dr. Jordan Landholm graduated with a B.S. in Physiology from the University of Washington in Seattle Washington in 2010 and went on to earn her Doctor of Chiropractic at Life Chiropractic College West in the San Francisco Bay area in December 2013. She completed eight years of education in six years making her one of the youngest NUCCA doctors to work on certification. She led the NUCCA program while in school and also served as class president. She graduated with honors and earned a clinical award while in school for providing NUCCA chiropractic care to more patients than any intern preceding her. She has been practicing in Northwest Chicago for several years and loves every minute of it. Her two driving goals are mastering NUCCA clinical care and advancing NUCCA research.
Dr. Gordon Hasick, Treasurer
Dr. Hasick has a diverse background in clinical chiropractic care, education, and television production; all with a focus on human development and enhanced well-being. He began his private chiropractic practice in Calgary in 1980 opening the Britannia Clinic where he continues to practice. He has been a board certified instructor for the National Upper Cervical Chiropractic Association since 1989. He also served as Chief Chiropractic Officer for the 1988 Olympic Winter Games in Calgary as well as Team Chiropractor for Team Canada Men's Volleyball Team.
In 1993 Dr. Hasick established C-1 Film Production Corporation®, a company that uses the creative media of live workshops, television, video and audio programs to communicate wellness information. C-1 Films® distributes programs about hope and healing, and produces projects featuring success stories from those who have overcome significant challenges and have been able to thrive. Dr. Hasick has also been a part of the faculty of Leadership Development at the Banff Centre from 2004- 2009 where he was part of a team that facilitates programs designed to build personal leadership with visions for an ideal future.
Dr. Hasick is president of the The Ralph R. Gregory Memorial Foundation (Canada) and brings his experience and dedication to the NUCCA work to support the research, education, public awareness and help ensure a strong future for the NUCCA organization.
Dr. Benjamin Kuhn, Secretary
Dr. Benjamin Kuhn has been in private practice in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada since 2007 and serves as a Director on the UCRF board, Chairman of the Ethics Committee for NUCCA, and sits on the Education Committee for the Upper Cervical Council of the ICA.
Dr. Kuhn graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa in late 2006 then returned to his home of Edmonton to practice. While in school, Dr. Kuhn served as president of the NUCCA club and was involved with several other student organizations as well as being a regular contributor to the campus newspaper.
His passion for changing the way we think about health care and his drive for increasing the awareness and availability of top tier upper cervical chiropractic care has lead Dr. Kuhn to author the upcoming book "Health Unleashed: What your doctor isn't telling you about Medicine, Health, and Disease" as well as to develop the DicomAnalyzer program for doing accurate upper cervical analysis of digital xrays. He also has plans of developing a new system of capturing digital postural and range of motion information soon.
When not involved in Upper Cervical pursuits, Dr Kuhn enjoys spending time outdoors with his family, working with his local Scouting group, and doing home improvement projects.
Dr. Jonathan Chung, Director
Dr. Jonathan Chung is an upper cervical chiropractor trained by the National Upper Cervical Chiropractic Association. He graduated from the University of Central Florida with a B.S. in Microbiology and Molecular Biology and went on and received his doctorate from Life University's College of Chiropractic. Dr. Chung research interests include the physiology of the atlas subluxation complex in relationship to post-concussion syndrome and neurodegenerative disorders. He has published case studies peer-reviewed chiropractic journals and presented at several chiropractic associations and research conferences.
Dr. Marshall Dickholtz Jr., Director
Marshall Dickholtz Jr., is one of only twenty board certified NUCCA doctors worldwide. He practices in Chicago and is an authority on the diagnosis and treatment of adults and children with headaches, musculoskeletal conditions, spinal disc syndrome, back and neck pain, and other neurologically based conditions. Dr. Dickholtz has more than twenty-nine years of experience and has treated more than 8,000 individual cases.
In 1978, Dr. Dickholtz completed his Doctor of Chiropractic degree at Palmer University with awards in radiology and leadership. He continued his education with more than 2,000 hours of NUCCA training, receiving his NUCCA board certification in 1993.
Dr. Dickholtz has appeared as a guest on numerous radio talk shows as well as local and national television programs including the Discovery Health Channel's recent "Impact Stories of Survivial" which highlighted his successful treatment of race car driver Tony Schumacher's devastating injuries.
Dr. Dickholtz is currently the director of the NUCCA certification program as well as the standards committee, and is Vice President of the board of directors for both the National Upper Cervical Chiropractic Association and the Upper Cervical Research Foundation (formerly NUCCRA). As an instructor at NUCCA seminars, Dr. Dickholtz has also authored articles and chapters on various aspects of NUCCA care and certification. He is the recipient of the coveted Ralph R. Gregory Award 2006.
Dr. Daiki Ishiyama, Director
Dr. Daiki Ishiyama is one of only 25 board certified NUCCA doctors worldwide, specializing in identifying and correcting the structural displacement that impairs function of the brain stem and central nervous system. He graduated as a Doctor of Chiropractic from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa in 2008. He is the first and only Asian chiropractor who has completed NUCCA Board Certification and on the board of directors for UCRF. He practices in Chicago and in his hometown of Tokyo, Japan. He is committed to the mastery of NUCCA by supporting the maximum potential and future for patients, and the NUCCA organization.
Dr. Kerry L. Johnson, Director
Dr. Kerry L. Johnson graduated from Life University and opened Johnson Spinal Care Associates, PA in the south metro of St. Paul/Minneapolis in 1986. Together with his wife Lisa, Dr. Johnson has developed a highly successful NUCCA practice and has introduced many interns and associates to NUCCA. He serves as a part-time faculty at Northwestern Health Sciences University and has taught the NUCCA elective for the past four years. Part of his vision is to eventually see 100 NUCCA doctors practicing in MN.
Dr. Johnson is the author of the book, "I'm Sick and Tired of Being Sick and Tired". He holds a patent on an innovative solution for plantar fasciitis. Dr. Johnson is a member of the Upper Cervical Council of the ICA and participates in a monthly research collaboration of the orthogonally based upper cervical procedures. He is a licensed minister active in mission work and serves on the boards of Innovative Outreaches United and Praise FM in the Twin Cities. Dr. Johnson loves to fish, hunt, cycle and dote on his grandchild Finley.
Dr. Lila Baker-Reedy, Director
Dr. Lila's childhood consisted of everything active you could possibly imagine. She started skiing at 2 years old, dancing at 3, gymnastics at 5, and continued on to enjoy mountain biking, backpacking, whitewater rafting, skydiving, flying trapeze and the list goes on. Her passion for sports and an active lifestyle carries into her passion for helping athletes get their edge back – or just keep it in the first place!
After a horrible car accident at 17 years old, Dr. Lila thought she had lost any opportunity to be active. Through chiropractic care she found her body healing better than any medical doctor could have predicted. At that time, she discovered a profound appreciation for the power of Chiropractic, and would go on to refer hundreds of patients in to local chiropractors. Later in life, she realized her calling, and headed off to Chiropractic school.
Dr. Lila has been helping patients through NUCCA Chiropractic care since 2012. She is passionate about learning so she can continue to provide her patients with the highest quality care, and continues to attend NUCCA conferences twice yearly to ensure she is educated in the most recent research in the profession. Her passion for Chiropractic grows with every patient she cares for. Her dedication and commitment to NUCCA continues to grow with every patient she cares for.
Dr. Jeffrey Scholten, Director
In private practice in Calgary, Alberta, Canada since 2001, Dr. Scholten is the clinic director and owner of The Vital PostureTM Clinic. Dr. Scholten is a Board Certified Diplomate in Chiropractic Craniocervical Junction Procedures and is currently the only Canadian to hold the distinction of being a Fellow in Chiropractic Craniocervical Junction Procedures. He was selected as the Upper Cervical Chiropractor of the Year in 2015 by the International Chiropractic Association’s Council on Upper Cervical Care. Dr. Scholten is President of the National Upper Cervical Chiropractic Association (NUCCA) and also serves as a member of the board of directors of the International Chiropractic Association’s Council on Upper Cervical Care, the Upper Cervical Research Foundation (UCRF) and the Ralph R. Gregory Memorial Foundation (Canada).
Dr. Lee Yardley, Director
Dr. Lee Yardley graduated as a Doctor of Chiropractic from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa in 1978, and completed his undergraduate education at the University of Auckland, Auckland, New Zealand. In addition, he was Board Certified by the National Upper Cervical Chiropractic Association (NUCCA) in 1996 and practices in the state of Washington.
Dr. Yardley is on the NUCCA faculty, teaches advanced adjusting, and developed curriculum for the Intermediate Biomechanics program introduced in 2005. He supervises and sponsors a two year post doctoral program for doctors (from all over the North American continent) with an interest in advancing their clinical skills in a practice based on the Grostic Model. Dr. Yardley serves on the standards committee for the NUCCA organization, as one of five doctors responsible for qualifying doctors for board certification. He also Chairs the NUCCA educational committee.
Dr. Yardley has also served as research consultant on a study financed by the National Institutes of Health, and as an extension faculty member for Palmer and Logan chiropractic colleges.
